Central government ask IPL authorities to work on rescheduled dates further.

IPL board gave the rescheduled dates to government authorities, to get consent for tournament, but amicable consent hasn’t been arrived yet. Government has asked the IPL officials to rework on the schedule yesterday in a meeting.

Indian government home security official Maudugar Gupta had a video conferencing session with state governments of 7 different states namely Delhi, Maharasthra, Andhra Pradesh, Rajasthan, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka over the re - worked schedule given by IPL authorities.

After the meeting, state Government officials have said that, unless government deploys 5 to 6 companies of central forces, it would be impossible to host the matches as scheduled. According to them each match requires around 4000 guards, among which 3000 would be deployed in stadium itself.

Lalith Modi and Sundara Raman flew into New Delhi after an emergency meeting in Mumbai, to assure the government officials ,that they will again re work on schedule to convenience of Lok Sabha elections which is going to be conducted across India from April 13.

Madugar Gupta later met the National security consultant Narayanan and also home minster M .K Chidambaram outlining the finer details of the meeting.

From the meeting it seems, that Delhi is only state which has given assurance of hosting matches without help of any central forces, whereas other state government have literally rules out any possibility of hosting matches devoid of Central forces along with Para – military forces.

Governments of Tamil Nadu and west Bengal have also expressed grave concerns of the fact of hosting IPL matches along with elections, which could be a herculean task. There is another scheduled meeting between IPL authorities along with Indian Union Home minister M.K. Chidambaram, which many experts feel would be crucial to fortunes of IPL 2nd edition.

With the tournament just around the corner, IPL authorities would be hoping that their antics with schedules and security will soon desist for the drama is upstaged in cricket field.

Already IPL authorities have announced three new revenues namely Vishakapattinam, Dharamasala to facilitate the smooth functioning of the elections and IPL. But with few positive signs like Delhi state government intent to stage the tournament and also Rajasthan state government sending a letter to IPL authorities to provide substantial security, IPL would hog the limelight through some fireworks between ball and bat in ground.
