The DLF IPL teams are preparing for the third edition with new strategies based on the experience gained from the earlier editions. Some of the teams opted for new players to strengthen their batting, fielding and bowling departments. Some of the teams opted to change the leadership by entrusting the responsibility to another player hoping that the change will do the magic. Some teams opted to change their team coach and some teams introduced bowling as well as fielding coaches to get expert advice and tactics from the well experienced former players.
We will just analyze the significant changes effected by certain teams to win the tournament. It is part of the game plan to turn over the game in their favor.
Kolkatta Knight Riders : The team has changed its coach john Buchannan as the team faired very badly in the two earlier editions and also his concept of rotating the captain by turn also failed to yield any result. Further, he is not communicating well with the players as per the observation of Sharu Khan the team owner. Another Australian player Whatmore an effective coach for Srilanka team earlier is appointed as a new coach.
Punjab Kings XI : The team has taken an unexpected decision of changing the captain. They have replaced Yuvraj with Srilanka captain Kumara Sangakara.The earlier performances of Yuvraj Singh in the first two editions of IPL and the present fabulous form of Kumara Sangarkara would have prompted the team management to take this bold decision. Although Yuvraj is not happy with the decision, he must accept that he has not risen to the occasion in crucial matches in the earlier editions
Delhi Dare Devils : The mantle now has been handed over by Virender Shewag to Gautam Gambhir. It is a decision taken by Shewag and accepted by the team management as they felt that now Shewag can concentrate well on his batting with out the pressure of captaining the team
Mumbai Indians : The team is in upbeat mood as their captain Sachin Tendulkar is in excellent form. The team has decided to get the most valued player by paying any price. Ultimately they succeeded in getting Polard West Indian player. They also hired the services of Robin Singh and Rhodes from south Africa to coach their players.
Chennai Super Kings - They have not made many changes in their team and they have brought in Venkatesa Prasad as a bowling coach and also brought in Kemp as a replacement for Ian Fleming
Rajasthan Royals,Deccan Chargers and Royal Challengers have not made significant changes and are planning to stick to their original players.
