Resurgent Bangalore dashes Chennai Super Kings IPL hopes

Bangalore Royal Challengers did what Australia did in 99 world cup in England, by winning all their matches in their final league matches to romp to semi – finals and now they have climbed one more step, by crushing Chennai in semi – finals by six wickets.

Chennai batted first in Johannesburg pitch and as anticipated their openers Parthiv Patel and Matthew Hayden fired, with some controlled aggression, that they took the score to sixty one runs within seven overs, but just when Hayden missile was about to launch, it crashed of the bowling of Vinay Kumar.

Parthiv Patel, who looked far more aggressive scoring thirty six valuable runs, soon followed Matthew Hayden, to the dugout and it came to their much crooned middle order, to carry the valuable momentum contrived, by their openers.

There was nothing unusual about Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s slow start, but it became unusual when he consumed thirty deliveries and threw his wicket, by mistiming a hit of Roelof De Merwe, to leave very little deliveries for big hitters like Albie Morkel and Jacob oram to fire.

Even though Albie Morkel and Jacob Oram clouted six apiece, they were not allowed, to fly over with one taxing over, which has been the script this entire IPL, where all the bolwers bowled beautifully at the death, to restrict Chennai formidable line – up to one hundred and forty six runs.

Bangalore Royal challenger’s batsmen showed intent right form the ball one, but lost Jacques Kallis in second over of Manpreet Gony. But last match centurion Manish Pandey flaunted his abilities in the big stage quite admirably, that he asserted his last match century was not a fluke, by any means.

He along with Dravid combined well, to script a match winning partnership, which also withered the Muralitharan challenge and few nerves in the middle, but both became prey to spinners.

It came to Virat Kohli and Ross Taylor, to romp the banaglore home, which they did it admirably well, by clouting huge sixes of Suresh Raina and Muralitharan, to pacify the distance between runs to get and balls to be bowled.

Kumble clearly emulated Dhoni in the day, when inspiration was on demand, as he rung in deft bowling changes and smart batting order, to outclass Chennai comfortably with a over to spare. It sets up interesting clash – up between two teams, which only managed last two places in last season, as twists and turns sounds to be a thing innate with IPL
