IPL 3 Security

The DLF IPL third edition is only 17 days away and still it is not sure whether the international players from England,Australia and South Africa will participate in the tournament. They are buying their time to take a final decision as they are watching the situation developments in India .The security adviser of Australian players has already submitted his report and the contents of this report has not been made public. However it is learnt that the report has confirmed that the threat issued by Al-Quida to the tournament and to the players is real and the players are not safe from the prospective attack. The Australian Cricket association will not advice the players to participate in the tournament in the light of this report and the players have to make their own decision and arrangement for visiting India to play DLF IPL edition 3.

The attack on Sri Lankan players in Pakistan had created panic in the minds of foreign players and they feel that the security arrangements in the sub-continent are not adequate and fool-proof. This is the reason that the international players are hesitant in making firm decisions about the participation. The latest Pune blast in which 15 people died including some foreign players has raised a warning signal to the international sports persons. Some of the International players have withdrawn from the world cup hockey tournament citing security concerns.

Lalith Modi, yesterday categorically stated that the DLF IPL 3 edition will not be shifted outside India on any account and this time the tournament will be played in India only.He has also stated that all possible security arrangements have been made by the IPL management for the tournament and that the tournament will carry on in the absence of international players also. He is of the opinion that the Market for this sporting event is in India and hence The tournament will do well even with out the international players. He also said that we must not give much credentials to the threats issued bu some fringe outfits. Now, it has become very clear from the official statement of Lalit Modi that the IPL is ready to host the tournament in India and not willing to shift the venue.
