IPL 2010 and Australian Players

The DLF IPL has created a division among the Australian players. It is reported that a briefing was held in Australia Where discussion was held about the security concerns of the players participating in the tournament to be held in India from 12-march-2010.The former players like Mathew Hayden, Adam Gilchrist and Shane Warne are in favor of playing the tournament where as the current players are not so inclined to take the risk in the light of the recent developments in the sub-continent.

It is reported the present Australian captain had heated argument with the retired Australian players and the former Australian players are not agreeing with the contention of Ricky Pointing. The Australian Cricket Association Has independently assessed the safety of the players and arrived at the conclusion that the foreign players are prone to terror attack. The ACA is trying very hard to arrive at a unified decision so that there is no division among the players. The ACA wants that the Australian players to take a unified stand as in the past and are working on it to arrive at a consensus.

The concern of the Australian players is that they may have to loose millions of dollars in case of non participation. They may also face tough action by the IPL management including termination of the contract and levying of heavy penalty. The former IPL players who have been contracted for hefty amount are not prepared to forego their earnings whereas the current younger players who have been contracted recently are prepared to face the consequences.

As still there is sufficient time, The Australian players will adopt their own strategies taking into account their personnel considerations. Senior players like Mathew Hayden and Adam Gilchrist who are not active in the international cricket are keen to involve themselves in this tournament as it is a rare opportunity to exhibit their talent and also to earn good money. Further, these players love India and are willing to play here than their current team players.
