Kolkata Knight Riders bite the dust in their warm-up games in SA

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) ipl team has come under the scanner, for all wrong reasons , like disagreement between Sourav Ganguly over its coach multi- captains theory and confusion over team selection, have played their first few warm up games in Bloemfontein, a lead up to IPL and surprisingly ended up losing both the warm up games.

As expected coach multi – captains’ theory is employed for the first time, where Laxmi Ratan Shukla was captain for its first game and Akash Chopra took the mantle for second game, whereas wicket keeper Van Wyk helped them to set the fields.

Buchanan who started this conspiracy theory explained, that even though they lost both the games, both the captains were good and also theory, which is in infant stages do have some void to be filled and added that, he was yet to get the feedback from their players, but he dint feel any communication gap, as predicted by experts.

Even though team was without big names like Sourav Ganguly,Brad Hodge, Brendon Mc. Cullum and Chric Gayle, the local team Free State hasn’t got any great track record, for one, to be happy losing to it.

Dinda dint have a good game, who just broke his team mate Wridhman saha ‘s left thumb in practise nets and wicket keeper is said to miss 2 to 3 weeks of cricket owing to injury. Whereas Charl Langdevelt, Chateswar Pujara, shoaib sheikh some new debutants for KKR were said to had a good outing ,in their respective departments.

Incidentally they are going to play their next warm- up matches with same team, where there are going to be some changes like Sourav Ganguly would return to team and expected to open with Wicket Keeper Wan Vyk and so is Brad Hodge and Mushrafe Mortaza. It is said that other International players like Ishanth Sharma, ajantha Mendis, Brendon Mc Cullum and Chris Gayle would follow them soon.

Coach was also highly solicitous, about their lack of energy during fielding, which was quite evident, because of back to back matches and also owing, to high altitude of Bloemfontein, which can affect one’s endurance level.

KKR manager wasn’t too perturbed, by loses and sounded optimistic that their team would bounce back stronger and fresher. So these initial hiccups could be a launching pad for their onslaught in IPL tournament, which one has to wait bit long to find out.
