IPL 2010 Notable Players


The IPL edition 3 participating teams have almost retained their original players. However some of the teams have gone in for new players to strengthen their bowling and batting. There was a tough competition in the auction for certain reputed players. Some of the notable players who were auctioned for a high price are Kieron Pollard, Shane Bond, Kemar Roach, and Wayne Parnell.

Kieron Pollard, the West Indian all rounder was bought by Mumbai Indians for a whooping amount of $7, 50,000. He is a dashing batsman in the middle order apart from being a fast bowler. He impressed the Indian cricketing fans with his spectacular performance in the championship league by scoring 54 runs of 18 balls. He is certainly a player to watch out in DLF IPL T20 3rd Edition.

Shane Bond, who is also a new addition IPL T20 tournament, is a well established New Zealand fast bowler possessing an impressive track record. He was also bought at a very high price of $7, 50,000 by the IPL Kolkatta Knight Riders to add strength to their bowling.

Kemar Roach, the West Indian speed star is playing for the first time for the IPL T20 tournament in India. He has the ability to bowl up to a speed of 150 km/hr. He has posed huge problems to Australian players in the recent West Indies-Australia series. The IPL Deccan Chargers bought this player with a stiff competition from IPL Chennai Super Kings.

Wayne Parnell - a South African fast bowler who had shown stupendous performance in the World Cup T20 matches held in England has been chosen by the IPL Delhi Daredevils.

Damien Martyn – A veteran Australian batsmen has been bought by Rajasthan Royal at the insistence of Shane Warne, the captain of IPL Rajasthan Royals. Although he has not played cricket tournaments at the international level in the recent past, he is expected to perform well with his rich experience. He is also a new addition to DLF IPL T20 3rd Edition.

Tilakaratne Dilshan – The powerful batsman of Srilanka is in a very good form. In recent Srilanka-India series his performance has left the audience spell bound. On his day he has the capability of turning around the match from any position. He has been retained by the IPL Delhi Daredevils.

Mathew Hayden – The most consistent Australian left hander batsman was a great success in both the previous IPL editions. Although he has retired from the international cricket. He is keeping his good touch and expected to farewell in the IPL 3rd edition. He is the most dependable player for the IPL Chennai Super Kings.

Virender Shewag : The most entertaining Indian Batsmen of the current cricketing world is in a very good form. He has not performed up to the expectations in the previous two editions and to compensate the same he might be fighting hard to prove his talent. He also opted out of the captainship of IPL Delhi Daredevils to concentrate on his batting.

Delhi Daredevils – A.B. De Villiers, Gautham Gambhir

Deccan Chargers – Adam Gilchrist, Andrew Symonds, Dwayne Smith, Rohit Sharma, Herschelle Gibbs.

Kings XI Punjab – Kumara Sangarkara, Yuvraj Singh, Brett Lee, Irfan Pathan, Shaun Marsh

Kolkatta Knight Riders- Chris Gayle, Saurav Ganguly, Brandon Mccullum, Brad Hodge, Ishant Sharma.

Mumbai Indians – Sachin Tendulkar, Zaheer Khan, Lasith Malinga, Harbajan Singh, J.P.Duminy.

Rajasthan Royals – Shane Warne, Graeme Smith, Yousuf Pathan, Munaf Patel

Royal Challengers- Anil Kumble, Jacques Kallis, Ross Taylor, Mark Boucher
