The oscillations and renovations of IPL schedule doesn’t sounds to bother the fact that Dharmasala is confirmed venue for 2nd edition of IPL. Even while fate of many cities like Delhi, Jaipur and Vishakapattinam sounds capricious, it hasn’t affected this place in Himachal Pradesh.
Administrative Manager Sunil Chauhan ,said that stadium,which is located 4000 metres above the sea level, in terrain of Himalayas, would offer both touring players and spectators different kind of cricketing experience.
He was quoted saying that, stadium would be ready by April 15, to host IPL matches. Work is carried out in a manner of war emergency situation, to contrive the stadium for hosting IPL matches.
Already it’s a known fact that flood lights have been installed. It has been estimated more than 35 crores have been spent to renovate and refurbish the stadium, which is on par with any International Cricket stadium.
One better thing which stadium has it in its favour is the ardent support of State government of Himachal Pradesh. They sound to be optimistic in providing security and also even deploying Para – military forces if required.
Stadium is said to comprise of Gyms, separate corporate and Media boxes with capacity of around 19,000 people. Even though this stadium has not got any International cricket experience apart from a match between India A and South Africa A, IPL would put Dharmasala truly on global map of cricket.
With picturesque locations, it can provide a different flavour to Indian cricket, which has seen only arid condition before. Even though final touches for stadium are given, by hundreds of people day and night to meet deadline, Sunil Chauhan is confident, that their stadium will ruffle aroma of IPL.
It’s a well known fact that, Indian pitches are biased heavily towards batsmen. Last year IPL would be a perfect testimonial for the above fact, but Sunil Chauhan himself Curator of ground is confident of preparing pitch, which could provide a even contest between ball and bat.
Home minister yesterday has said that IPL schedule has been again sent to state governments to hear their opinion, before which it will be too early to confirm the case of IPL. But things sounds to be very optimistic, as already state governments of Punjab, Andhra Pradesh, west Bengal and Tamil Nadu are said to be given the consent for latest schedule.
Finally the essence of IPL in all possibilities is sure to ruffle the place of Dharmasala in this 2nd edition of IPL.
