IPL schedule, which was a billion dollar question for more than a month, is finally arrived at an answer. Latest revised schedules, fabricated by IPL officials, have found much needed favour from central government.
Even though there are concerns from other parties regarding the latest schedule. IPL authorities have managed, to incite a much needed consent from central government signalling that tournament is well and truly on.
Reworked schedule has sprung huge surprises and disappointments. It was not long ago, when other state government were reluctant, to conduct IPL matches, Delhi gave much needed confidence that they are ready to host the IPL matches even without central forces. Now latest schedule does not feature venue Delhi, which has sprung huge surprise.
Other cities which are going to lose the potential matches are Jaipur and Vishakapattinam. Even though Jaipur was never said to be venue of live IPL 2nd edition, Vishakapattinam was very much in scheme of things and has raised few eyebrows owing to its omission from venue.
Not surprisingly though, Mumbai is slated to host around 12 matches according to newly refurbished IPL schedule. Kolkata Knight Rider’s team owner Sharukh Khan can now afford for few smiles as Kolkata is slated to host around seven matches as it’s a well known fact that West Bengal is one of the state which was very cynic about hosting IPL matches. Now Kolkata is scheduled to host IPL matches from April 12th to April 26.
Ahemadabad is going to be city, which is going to make IPL debut this season. They are scheduled to host around seven matches this season. Punjab Cricket association can heave a sigh of relief, as Mohali features in scheme of things. They are going to host the matches from April 11 to April 24.
Delhi dare Devils CEO, Amrith Mathur, when queried about potential losses of IPL matches for Delhi, answered that external factors are not under their control and one has to move forward.
Vishakapattinam is another city, which would feel disappointed to miss out on IPL dream, as they were in stone throwing distance of staging IPL. For tournament winners Rajasthan Royals, the new schedule is going to be a heartbreak, as already their owners were furious for shifting inaugural function from Jaipur to Mumbai.
With central government consent, things now appear very much settled and clear for IPL drama to take its force on field.
