V. B Chandrasekar, former Indian selector is donning the role of Director of Operations of team Chennai Super kings (CSK). He was part of CSK huge success in 1st edition along with Kris Srikkanth for their impressive brains behind team selection.
In a recent interview to a leading newspaper, he said that, IPL 2nd edition even through has to face lot of hurdles, would sail over it and emerge much stronger and richer compared to last year.
It was a learning experience for all of them and this time around all the teams are better prepared and accustomed to working condition of IPL.
He disclosed his views on International players in CSK teams, stating that Flintoff inclusion would be a huge bonus for chances of his team success in this year IPL and Inputs from Dhoni certainly helped them to rope him in.
Their strategy to rope in players like Goerge Bailey, Power hitter and Thilan Thusara Srilankan all-rounder was also not because of any accident but well thought out strategic move, which He hoped could fetch them success.
Chandrasekar sprayed some aroma on huge local talent available in depository like M. Vijay, who made his debut against England in test match would be playing for CSK this season. CSK had lot of problems in settling with a standard opening pair last season, but this time around with Matthew Hayden and M .Vijay they have arrived at a perfect answer for their quandary.
He also stated few local names like Ashwin, a proven spinner can prove to be one of the most effective local players matching Muralitharan. There are also other quality players in their line up like Arun Karthik and S. Suresh Kumar, who can give any opposition the run for their money.
This year CSK would see Stephen Fleming donning a new role, where he would be the part of team management think- tank, rather than participating as a player. It could be a huge boost for them, as he is known for his shrewdness as a captain of Newzealand.
CSK have plenty of International talent with names like Matthew Hayden, Makhya Nitni, Muthiah Muralitharan, Mike Hussey, Albie Morkel who can make an huge impact in T 20 format along with local players like Badrinath, Lakshmipathy Balaji, Vidyut Sivaramakrishnan and Parthiv Patel in their ranks.
